Mr Spiegelberg, was thorough in explaining the hip replacement procedure, listened and answered questions with clarity. He was friendly and and never made me feel rushed when in an appointment. The surgery and aftercare were all excellent. I recovered without complications. I would highly recommend him.

I am rather late in posting my review following my right knee replacement operation which was carried out by Mr Spiegelberg at Spire Hospital, Bushey in September 2021. From the initial consultation with Mr Spiegelberg he instilled confidence. Throughout my short hospital stay I was treated with respect, his pleasant attitude put me at ease and he was always available and interested to answer any questions.
I am writing as a NHS patient who was fortunate to be referred to Mr Spiegelberg after suffering pain and greatly reduced mobility.
The benefit of this late review is that I have now had my new knee for 7 months and I can honestly say it has give me my life back after many years of pain and difficulty,
I will be forever grateful to Mr Spiegelberg for his skill and encouragement. His care and professionalism could not have been better.

Ben, I have now known for a number of years. Initially he performed my partial knee replacement and then revision surgery for a full knee replacement. He listens and has a wonderful bedside manor and cares emotionally and on a practical basis. His team are professional. I could not recomend him enough, thank you for all your help Ben

During the course of my treatment, Mr Spiegelberg has treated me with respect, dignity and provided an outstanding service. Together with his team, he has overseen both of my knee replacements and I am now able to walk which has vastly improved the quality of my life. On both of my admission days, he came to speak to me in the morning and in the evening which demonstrated that he cared about my wellbeing. I am grateful for his service and will never forget his generosity.

I had my total hip replacement privately in January this year, as I could not continue to wait any longer for NHS treatment. Mr Spiegelberg and his team at Bushey afforded me excellent treatment and care. I had complete confidence in Mr Spiegelberg who was extremely personable and professional; his calm, approachable bedside manner was exactly what I needed both before and after the operation. I would also like to add that the after care following the operation has been first class, from the amazing physio care to conversations with Mr Spiegelberg or his secretary Beth - nothing has been too much trouble for them. I know I have to have the other hip replaced at some point in the near future, and, of course, I will return to Ben Spiegelberg when the time comes.

Mr. Ben Spiegelberg is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in adult hip and knee surgery. He underwent specialist training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore and subsequent Specialist Registrar training on the Oxford registrar rotation centred at Oxford University. He spent a year in Canada on the internationally renowned University of Western Ontario Adult Reconstruction Fellowship program prior to being appointed Consultant at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Mr Spiegelberg sees and treats many orthopaedic conditions and fractures. His sub-specialty interests are hip and knee surgery, including knee and hip replacement, partial knee replacement, arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), cartilage transplantation and revision (redo) joint replacements.
